Welcome to the CTC

The Clinical Trials Center (CTC) is the clinical trials arm of the University of Cincinnati’s Department of Emergency Medicine. UC Emergency Medicine is an international leader in Emergency Medicine with a long history of firsts, from pioneering training programs in emergency medicine and neurocritical care to establishing the country’s first Heart ER. Our clinical researchers enroll thousands of patients a year, and we are dedicated to making access to research a priority for every one of our 100,000+ patients.

The CTC's three emergency departments treat over 150,000 patients annually with more than 55,000 presenting patients being screened for research at department clinical sites, and over 850 were actively enrolled in clinical trials or other research programs.

Access to Patients and Clinical Studies

We have something few others do. Our team provides high quality emergency care to a broad, diverse group of individuals through three top-rated hospitals. Our main hospital is housed within the urban diversity of Cincinnati, University Hospital. Our two suburban hospitals are housed in our Western and Northern regions - West Chester Medical Center, and Mercy Medical’s The Jewish Hospital. Last year alone, we screened over 10,000 patients for potential enrollment into one of our research studies. Take a moment to view our patient population map.

We are able to reach any type of patient, any time of the day, and with any disease process. We are partners with the best Trauma services in the area as University Hospital is our region’s Level 1 Trauma Center.

Through our partnerships, we can meet all of your research needs.
